Lesson Three : String Fret Finger
Remember this sequence: String , Fret and then Finger. All the notes and chords can be described in these terms.
You already know which string is the 1st, 2nd ... 6th
Fret:
The gap between 1st horizontal line & 2nd can be called 1st Fret. You can place your finger anywhere between them and you will produce same sound.
Gap between 2nd & 3rd horizontal line is 2nd Fret.
You will find a small dot in the area between the 3rd & 4th line - this is your 3rd Fret.
Similarly you move down to 4th Fret, 5th... etc.
Finger:
Index finger - 1st finger
Middle finger - 2nd finger
Ring finger - 3rd finger
Little finger - 4th finger.
Thumb is used for grip.
You can produce a note by either playing the string open (no finger on any fret denoted as 'S' 0 0 ) or play a note you will have to place your Finger on a Fret and strum that String.
Since this is C scale, your 1st note, Do will be C
Re will be- D
Mi - E
Fa - F
So - G
La - A
Ti - B
Brush up your C scale. Go through Basic Knowledge of Music.

E 4 2 2
F 4 3 3
G 3 0 0
A 3 2 2
B 2 0 0
Remember when I say 4 0 0 it means 4th string no finger on fret, just strum the 4th String.
5 3 3 means Strum the 5th String with your 3rd finger on 3rd String.
